Hydrostatic Extrusions Ltd. (HELi), based in Perth, Scotland, manufactures and markets Cuponal™, an innovative copper-clad aluminium electrical conductor that delivers significant weight and cost advantages over conventional copper products.

Cuponal™ is supplied globally in bars, sections and wire form to customers across a range of industries including aerospace, transportation, electrical equipment and power infrastructure.

With annual revenues of approximately £4 million, HELi has delivered sustained profitable growth over the last decade and employs a highly skilled team of 14 people. The company's unique competitive advantage is its 4,000-ton hydrostatic extrusion press, currently the only operating press of its kind available for commercial projects worldwide. HELi is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ: BRKR), a global technology leader serving scientific, industrial and analytical markets.

Technical Sales & Business Development Manager

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Technical Sales & Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our Cuponal™ product portfolio and expand our international market presence.

Working closely with the Managing Director and the wider Bruker organisation, you will take ownership of an established global customer base while identifying new markets, applications and distribution opportunities. This is a pivotal role suited to someone who combines technical understanding with strong commercial instincts and a passion for business development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the next phase of growth for a unique, world-leading manufacturing business. The position reports to the Managing Director of Hydrostatic Extrusions Ltd.

Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Manage and develop existing customer accounts with annual sales exceeding £3 million.
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities across international markets, including North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors and strategic partners.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Promote Cuponal™ products through direct customer engagement, technical presentations, conferences and industry exhibitions.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and convert qualified opportunities into profitable business.
  • Prepare marketing materials and campaigns in close collaboration with business development teams across the group.

Technical & Market Development

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Cuponal™ products, capabilities and competitive advantages.
  • Identify new applications, industries and niche opportunities where Cuponal™ can deliver significant customer value.
  • Support customers in understanding product specifications, standards and performance characteristics.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative products and routes to market.

Compliance & Commercial Governance

  • Support and maintain corporate compliance requirements throughout the sales process.
  • Conduct customer due diligence and third-party compliance reviews in accordance with Bruker policies.
  • Ensure commercial activities comply with applicable export controls, international trade regulations and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor relevant industry standards and regulatory developments affecting international sales.

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to annual business planning, sales forecasting and budget development.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitor analysis and customer insights to support business growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with local management, finance and Bruker's global business development teams to implement growth strategies.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years' industrial experience in a technical, commercial or business development role.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel internationally without restriction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in technical sales, business development or account management.
  • Experience selling engineered, industrial or technical products into international markets.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and delivering revenue growth.
  • Understanding of commercial compliance requirements, export controls or international trade practices.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical conductors, power distribution systems, bus bars or related electrical infrastructure products.
  • Experience working with distributors and channel partners.
  • Familiarity with European and international regulatory frameworks affecting industrial products.
  • Experience within metals, advanced materials or manufacturing environments.
