We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with strong experience in domestic fire alarm products and systems.
You will work closely with our sales team and customers across the UK & Ireland, providing technical advice, product demonstrations, training, and pre-sales support. The role requires a solid understanding of the domestic fire alarm market, relevant regulations, and installation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and pre-sales support to customers and the sales team across the UK & Ireland.
- Recommend suitable domestic smoke, heat, and CO alarm solutions based on customer and project requirements.
- Support customer meetings, product demonstrations, trials, and site visits.
- Deliver product and installation training to installers, distributors, and partners.
- Assist customers with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Support technical enquiries and project opportunities through to successful conversion.
- Build strong technical relationships with installers, electricians, distributors, and other industry partners.
- Provide market and customer feedback to Product Management and R&D.
- Support the preparation of technical guides, FAQs, and training materials.
- Attend exhibitions, roadshows, and customer events where required.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous technical experience with domestic fire alarm systems, including smoke, heat, and CO alarms.
- Good understanding of relevant UK and Ireland regulations, standards, and installation requirements for domestic fire detection.
- Experience working with installers, electricians, distributors, or other industry customers.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable delivering technical training and product demonstrations.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and customer issues.
- Able to manage priorities effectively without requiring constant direction.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and willing to embrace change and take on new challenges.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel regularly across the UK & Ireland.

Desirable
- Experience with commercial fire alarm systems.
- Experience with CCTV, security, or other low-voltage systems.
Ideal Candidate
A practical, customer-facing engineer who understands domestic fire alarm products and regulations, and can combine technical knowledge with a commercial mindset to help customers choose the right solution and support sales growth. You will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently, taking ownership of your responsibilities without requiring constant direction. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, willing to embrace change, take on new challenges, and adapt as the business grows.
We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is resourceful, accountable, and willing to step outside their immediate responsibilities when needed to support customers and the wider team.
