Technical Sales Engineer – Food Processing Equipment

Location: Field-based – UK - Remote

Sector: Food Processing / Packaging or Capital Equipment

Salary: Depending on Experience - Very Competitive - Bonus + Uncapped Commission, Company Car, Healthcare etc.


We are working with a leading global manufacturer of food processing and production equipment to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow its aftermarket/service business across the UK and Ireland.

This is a customer-facing, field-based position suited to someone with a strong technical understanding of food processing machinery, extrusion systems or wider capital equipment, combined with commercial sales experience.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing service and aftermarket sales across an established customer base, identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop sales of spare parts, service, repairs, upgrades, modifications and service agreements
  • Visit customer sites across the UK & Ireland to identify technical and commercial opportunities
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing key accounts
  • Generate quotations and respond to technical/service enquiries
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, modernisation and new machinery
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and service agreements
  • Work closely with field service engineers, technical support and equipment sales teams
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer information within CRM systems

  • Experience within technical sales, service sales or sales engineering
  • A background in food processing, extrusion, packaging or capital machinery
  • Good mechanical/process understanding and the ability to discuss equipment confidently with engineering teams
  • Experience selling service, spare parts, upgrades or technical solutions would be highly advantageous
  • Strong customer relationship and account management skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and close opportunities
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the UK & Ireland

This would suit an experienced Technical Sales Engineer, Service Sales Engineer, Aftermarket Sales Engineer or technically minded Account Manager looking to join a major international food equipment manufacturer.
