Technical Sales Engineer - Aerospace & Defence

Home-Based / Field-Based | Northern England & Scotland

Competitive salary + bonus (£15-20K)

Are you an engineer or technically minded sales professional looking to take the next step into external technical sales?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established engineering business specialising in cable harnesses, EWIS, electrical interconnect and electro-mechanical assemblies, supplying demanding customers across Aerospace, Defence, Space, Rail and advanced engineering. You will take ownership of a largely undeveloped territory across Northern England and Scotland, identifying new customers, developing relationships and creating opportunities with leading engineering organisations.

The role

  • Develop new customers and markets across your territory
  • Meet engineering, procurement and commercial decision-makers
  • Understand customer applications and technical requirements
  • Develop opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation and negotiation
  • Manage your pipeline and develop strategic customer relationships
  • Work closely with experienced engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Attend customer visits, exhibitions and industry events

Who are we looking for?

This could suit an Internal Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager or technically minded customer-facing professional looking to move into external sales. You will need a technical/engineering background, strong communication skills, commercial ambition and the confidence to build relationships with customers.

You don't need extensive field sales experience – you will receive product training and hands-on support from an experienced Sales Manager and engineering team as you develop.
