Technical Sales Engineer – Labquip NDT Ltd

North England and Midlands (Permanent)

Labquip NDT Limited are distributors of non-destructive testing (NDT) and elemental analysis equipment and products. Our markets are growing, and they include scientific, technical and manufacturing customers.

Location

The Labquip NDT Limited Great Britain office is located in Stroud, Gloucestershire. The sales territory for this position covers postcodes in the North and some of the Midlands of England. The successful candidate must be living in the region.

Role

We are currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer. The ideal candidate will be proactive and open to learning on the job, as this role involves a strong focus on developing technical consulting. You will build technical expertise through practical experience and training and apply the knowledge gained to support new & existing customers.

Responsibilities

This role involves a wide range of responsibilities and tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Krautkramer Ultrasonic thickness gauges, flaw detectors and probes

  • Labino UV Inspection Lights

  • Bruker Handheld XRF (PMI Positive material identification)

  • Provide business support and management for the existing customer base within the region for a number of NDT product ranges.

  • Have a willingness to build technical specialisation.

  • Manage your own workload, calendar and customers.

  • Travel to customer sites and prospects around the assigned region efficiently.

  • Work with colleagues to build the business, market and identify growth.

  • Actively use sales history data to identify potential sales growth.

  • Identify opportunities to increase product sales and cross-sell where possible.

  • Proactively meet, demonstrate and grow the regional customer base.

  • Identify opportunities for nationwide colleagues with specialist equipment.

  • Support all GB customers as and when required.

  • Use CRM/ERP platform data to deliver and exceed key metrics for each of the product ranges.

  • Undertake the creation and development of a focused prospecting plan to target new customers and opportunities.

  • Develop a targeted approach to sales with a view to increasing year on year growth.

  • Apply market and technical knowledge to offer effective solutions for customers.

What you need

  • Previous sales experience in a technical role is a bonus but not essential.
  • Experience in an engineering role or NDT is important.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience is essential.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Ultrasonic knowledge or experience is a bonus but not essential.
  • Proven capacity to negotiate effectively.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent computer proficiency, in particular Microsoft Office, and familiarisation with CRM/ERP systems.

This is a unique opportunity at a growing company with a phased in approach.

Full training will be given by equipment suppliers and from sales counterparts both remotely and in person in England and in Dublin, Ireland, at the parent company Labquip (Ireland) Limited.

Package

  • Salary depending on experience.
  • Commission structure after 6 months - target based and set as achievable.
  • Hours of work - 5 days per week, 39 hours per week.
  • Company car provided or company car allowance with mileage to & from customer sites.
  • Company credit or debit card for business related expenses, mobile phone, and laptop.
  • Company pension contribution.
  • Annual Leave – 21 working days per annum. Extra days rewarded for length of service.
