Technical Sales Engineer – UAV Systems & Software
Location: Basingstoke (UK)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer with a strong information technology background and an interest in UAV technology to support the growth of AIRBORNE ROBOTICS. In this role, you will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and marketing & business development to identify new leads, understand technical requirements, and propose suitable UAV, payload, communications, and software solutions. You will support technical sales discussions, product demonstrations, offer proposals, customer integration, and lead generation activities, while representing AIRBORNE ROBOTICS at trade fairs, industry events, and customer meetings. The role combines technical knowledge with commercial awareness to help convert customer requirements into practical UAV solutions.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2 - 4 years of experience in technical sales, IT, software, systems engineering, or a related technology role.
- Strong interest in UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies.
- Comfortable discussing technical products with both engineering and commercial stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Experience working in B2B technology, industrial systems, or technical solution sales is beneficial.

Responsibilities
- Support technical sales across UAV platforms, payloads, software, and communication systems.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Prepare offers, technical quotations, product presentations, tenders, and supporting sales documentation.
- Conduct product demonstrations and support customer meetings, trade fairs, and exhibitions.
- Maintain customer opportunities, technical requirements, sales activities, and identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain leads, customer requirements, and sales activities within CRM systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of company products, software, integrations, and technical capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software, networking, and technical integrations.
- Ability to understand complex technical products and communicate them clearly to customers.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple customer opportunities.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, deployments, demonstrations, and industry events.
- Previous experience operating and piloting UAVs is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- English-speaking proficiency, right to work in the UK, and Visa-free travel to the EU.
