Technical Sales Engineer – Construction Robotics
Midlands / Field-Based
£40,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
Full UK Driving Licence Required
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an exciting and rapidly growing business at the forefront of construction robotics, automation and laser layout technology.
This is an opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer who combines strong technical ability with real commercial spark.
The company provides advanced robotic and digital construction solutions designed to transform traditional site processes – helping contractors improve accuracy, productivity and efficiency through automation.
This isn't a traditional sales role, and it isn't a desk-based engineering position.
We're looking for someone who can understand the technology, work confidently with CAD and digital construction information, get out onto live construction sites and demonstrate sophisticated technology to customers.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can combine that technical credibility with the personality, enthusiasm and sales drive to win business.
The Role
You'll sit at the intersection of construction, technology and sales.
Working directly with contractors, engineers, BIM/VDC teams and site personnel, you'll understand how customers currently operate and demonstrate how robotics, automation and laser layout technology can improve their processes.
You'll be involved throughout the customer journey – from initial technical conversations and demonstrations through to Proof of Concept projects, sales and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new customer opportunities.
- Meet contractors, engineers and construction teams to understand their existing workflows.
- Demonstrate advanced robotics and laser layout technology on live construction sites.
- Work with CAD/BIM data to deliver accurate on-site demonstrations.
- Run technical demonstrations and Proof of Concept projects.
- Clearly communicate the productivity, accuracy and commercial benefits of automation.
- Support customers with CAD files, coordinate systems, control points and model-to-site alignment.
- Turn successful technical demonstrations into genuine commercial opportunities.
- Manage and progress opportunities through the sales process.
- Support customers during onboarding and implementation.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with construction businesses.
- Become a technical expert and trusted adviser on the company's technology.
- Travel to customer sites across the UK when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
