Role Description

The Technical Sales Engineer – North East is a full-time, on-site role based around Newcastle, Teeside, Durham, and surrounding areas. This role focuses on driving sales of metal-cutting tools and solutions by identifying customer needs, presenting technical product benefits, and recommending appropriate tooling for various applications. The Technical Sales Engineer will conduct on-site customer visits, deliver product demonstrations, provide technical support, and collaborate with distributors to grow market share in the region. The role includes preparing quotations, handling inquiries, and following up on opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term relationships. The position also involves working closely with internal teams to share market insights, support product development, and participate in training sessions and industry events.

  • Demonstrated experience in Technical Sales and Sales, with a focus on industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in Sales Engineering and Technical Support, including understanding of metal-cutting processes and tooling applications.
  • Strong Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships, manage a regional territory, and meet sales targets.
  • Relevant technical education, such as a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Comfort working on-site in customer facilities, including machine shops and manufacturing plants, and willingness to travel within the North East region.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to provide practical, application-based recommendations.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, basic data analysis, and standard office software; valid driver’s license is highly beneficial.
