Job Opportunity: Technical Sales Engineer
For our location in Uxbridge, in the Greater London area, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer. In this role, you will prepare technically accurate and commercially competitive quotations for Hale Hamilton’s portfolio of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, and related equipment. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will develop solutions that meet both technical and commercial requirements.

- Serve as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations in line with customer requirements, company policies, and agreed timelines.
- Review historical quotations and actual project costs to improve current and future quotation accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop cost-effective, technically compliant solutions and assist with technical queries, identifying technical deviations, exclusions, assumptions, and alternative solutions.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain technical and commercial information, pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements following up as required.
- Support tender submissions and manage larger or more complex customer enquiries.
- Maintain quotation records, pricing databases and other commercial documentation.
- Support the Quotations Team Lead in ensuring the efficient operation of the department, including administrative activities and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Your Qualifications
- HNC in mechanical/electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in technical quotations, estimating, applications engineering, technical sales, or a similar commercial role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Industry experience in sectors such as Defence, Oil & Gas, Flow Control, Marine, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as ERP systems (IFS), CRM Systems, Microsoft Office.
- Strong experience in flow control coupled with knowledge from either the valves, actuators, flow control, process equipment, or instrumentation industries.
- Excellent commercial awareness, with the ability to analyse costs, pricing structures, margins, and profitability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work within demanding deadlines.
