Ready to take your CNC engineering career to the next level Are you an experienced CNC machinist, programmer or applications engineer looking to move away from the shop floor and into a rewarding technical sales and applications role? Or are you already working within cutting tools or technical sales and looking for your next challenge? VARGUS UK are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our established UK sales team, covering the West Midlands. Previous sales experience is not essential. We're more interested in finding someone with strong CNC machining knowledge, a good understanding of cutting tools and the personality and ambition to build relationships with customers. In return, you'll receive a competitive package, company vehicle, bonus opportunity and the backing of a globally recognised cutting-tool manufacturer.

About VARGUS

VARGUS are a world leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of high quality precision tooling for the metalworking industry. Established in 1960, VARGUS has a long history of developing innovative cutting tool solutions and today operates globally through three major product lines:

  • VARDEX Advanced threading solutions
  • GROOVEX Grooving and turning solutions
  • SHAVIV Professional hand-deburring solutions

Innovation and technical expertise remain at the heart of our business, and our UK operation continues to grow.

The Opportunity

This is much more than a traditional sales role. You'll work directly with manufacturing companies, engineers and distributors across your territory, helping customers solve machining problems, improve productivity and introduce new cutting tool technologies. You'll manage and develop an established territory while identifying new opportunities and building long term customer relationships. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own diary and territory, supported by an experienced UK team and the technical resources of a global cutting tool manufacturer.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
