As an independent provider, Ashford Instrumentation is not tied to any single manufacturer, enabling tailored solutions that match customer requirements on quality, price, and lead time. The technical team brings extensive application knowledge to solve complex measurement challenges for clients. Ashford Instrumentation holds ISO 9008:2001 registration, is a member of The Institute of Measurement & Control, and serves as an official sales agent and distributor for several leading instrumentation brands.

Role Description

The Technical Sales Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Ruckinge. This position is responsible for managing and growing customer accounts by promoting Ashford Instrumentation’s pressure, temperature, and level measurement products and solutions. Day-to-day tasks include responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotations, providing technical product guidance, and following up on leads to convert them into sales. The role involves working closely with the technical team to understand application requirements, selecting suitable instrumentation from multiple manufacturers, and ensuring accurate, timely order processing. The Technical Sales Executive will also participate in business development activities, maintain up-to-date product and industry knowledge, and contribute to delivering a high level of customer service.

  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts related to pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation, ideally supported by experience in engineering, process industries, or a related technical field.
  • Proven sales or account management skills, including lead generation, negotiation, and closing, with a focus on building long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal technical teams.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple enquiries, preparing quotations, and tracking opportunities through to order.
  • Comfort with using standard business software (e.g., email, CRM, spreadsheets, and word processing) to document activity and maintain accurate records.
  • Relevant education such as a technical or business-related qualification is beneficial; prior experience in instrumentation, measurement and control, or industrial sales is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Ruckinge and collaborate within a small, specialist team focused on high-quality customer service.
