About The Role
Purpose of the Job
The role is responsible for driving sustainable Order Intake growth for Sulzer Chemtech’s Mass Transfer Components (MTC) business through:
- Active hunting of brownfield revamp opportunities from existing operating assets
- Early involvement and development of greenfield / grassroot CAPEX projects, from feasibility to FID
- Providing front-end technical sales leadership, translating customer process challenges into differentiated, value-based MTC solutions
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Revamp & Brownfield
- Proactively identify revamp, debottlenecking, capacity expansion, separation efficiency improvement, and reliability upgrade opportunities in existing operating plants
- Ability to conduct asset-level analysis (age of internals, operating issues, performance gaps, fouling, corrosion, capacity creep, energy efficiency requirements)
- Drive revamp-led sales strategies, including Tray replacement, Packing retrofits (random ↔ structured), Mist eliminator and separator upgrades, Hydraulic rating changes and column internals optimization
- Position Sulzer as a lifecycle partner, not just an equipment supplier
Greenfield/Grassroot Project Development
- Actively pursue new CAPEX grassroot projects
- Engage customers, licensors, consultants & EPCs early (feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED)
- Coordinate with application & technology, global applications teams in accordance with Sulzer project governance to lock in Sulzer MTC solutions early

Technical & Application Leadership
- Translate customer challenges into value-based technical proposals that differentiate MTC from competitors with Application & Technology team
Order Intake & Sales Achievement
- Deliver annual Order Intake targets, ensuring both revenue and expected margin objectives are met
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Implement long-term and short-term business strategies and ensure alignment with regional and global MTCS initiatives
Proposal Follow-up & CRM Management
- Proactively follow up on outstanding proposals and maintain accurate, up-to-date information in the Sulzer Customer Relationship Management system
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Head Office, Regional Offices, and local intermediaries to support project acquisition, proposal development, and market initiatives
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Provide regular updates on market trends, competitive landscape, project pipeline, and sales forecasts to support strategic decision making
- Lead country-level market mapping, demand analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer segmentation
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with local legal requirements, industry regulations, and company policies and procedures
Other Duties
- Perform any additional business-related tasks assigned by the superior to support business objectives

Educational Background
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related disciplines such as Process Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with proven process equipment and mass transfer experience
Professional Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years process equipment selling in Upstream, Refinery, Chemical & Petrochemical industry
- Knowledge of Distillation and Mass Transfer Separation technology
- Process plant design and/or plant engineering and operations experience for Chemicals, Petrochemicals Industries
- Proven track record in achieving YoY sales growth with strong penetration and success in refinery, Petrochemicals & Chemical segment
- Strong network of established contacts with decision makers / influencers in end user and engineering companies from Refinery, Chemical & Petrochemical industry
- Experience working with international, multi-ethnic and cultural teams
- Process unit operations, process equipment (static and related auxiliary equipment) design knowledge
