Technical Sales Manager

Department: Sales National

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Deister UK HQ

Reporting To: Head of Sales - UK & ROI

Description

Field-based Technical Sales Manager needed to drive Deister's access control business by combining strong commercial instincts with deep product and technical expertise. You will work closely with installers, integrators, consultants, and end-user organizations to specify, demonstrate, and sell our access control and identification solutions — acting as the technical authority who can translate complex product capability into a compelling, workable solution for the customer.

For almost 40 years, Deister has been at the forefront of the UK security sector. As a specialist design and manufacturing company based in Lincolnshire, we develop class-leading solutions trusted across critical infrastructure and industry — from intelligent key and asset management to GovPass-compliant access control and long-range vehicle identification. We are an independent, family-owned business with global reach, built on innovation, value engineering, and trust.

What you will be doing

  • Driving sales of Deister's access control product range by pairing technical expertise with a consultative sales approach
  • Providing pre-sales technical support, including system design input, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept trials
  • Working closely with installers, integrators, consultants, and end-user organizations to specify the right solution for their security requirements
  • Translating product features and system architecture into clear, customer-facing value propositions
  • Delivering technical training and CPD presentations to installers, specifiers, and consultants
  • Supporting tender and specification processes with technical documentation, schematics, and product recommendations
  • Building strong relationships with key technical and commercial stakeholders across the supply chain
  • Working closely with product management and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and market requirements
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and forecasting to support pipeline management

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
