Technical Sales Manager | £50,000–£60,000 | Sapphire Services | Ipswich

Do you know HVAC inside out and enjoy turning technical challenges into commercially sound solutions? Are you confident surveying sites, building quotations and developing customer relationships that lead to real business?

The role

As Technical Sales Manager, you’ll combine technical know-how with commercial thinking to take opportunities from first enquiry through to order and handover.

Working across air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump projects, you’ll have plenty of variety. One day you could be on-site understanding a customer’s requirements, the next you’ll be building a proposal or working with the operational team to get a project over the line.

This is a role with real ownership. You’ll have the autonomy to manage opportunities, develop customer relationships and directly influence the growth of Sapphire Cooling Services.

Key Responsibilities

The Technical Sales Manager will:

  • Carry out site surveys and recommend suitable technical solutions.
  • Prepare accurate quotations covering labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
  • Manage sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to order.
  • Follow up quotations and maintain a clear, organised sales pipeline.
  • Develop relationships with existing customers and identify additional opportunities.
  • Generate new business across the region.
  • Work closely with engineering and operational teams to ensure projects can be delivered effectively.
  • Support a smooth handover once projects are secured.
  • Monitor sales performance, conversion rates and margins.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
