About the Role Are you a confident, commercially minded agricultural professional with a strong understanding of the farming sector, ready to take on a key role with a UK market leader? This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager to join a successful, growing business with an excellent reputation in the agricultural sector. You’ll play a key role in managing the full sales and project lifecycle, building strong relationships with farmers, understanding their needs and developing tailored solutions. Working collaboratively across the wider team, you’ll ensure projects are delivered smoothly and to the highest standard. This is a relationship-led role suited to someone who is commercially astute, highly organised and confident dealing with farmers and business owners, with the autonomy to manage your own diary and travel extensively across the UK. Responsibilities
- Travel across the UK to meet clients, understand their requirements and develop tailored specifications to meet their needs
- Work closely with directors and engineers to develop project costs and prepare bespoke quotations
- Conduct face-to-face sales meetings to build relationships, negotiate and secure new business
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from initial enquiry and quotation through to delivery, ensuring a high-quality customer experience throughout
- Liaise and coordinate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered smoothly, efficiently and to specification
- Undertake regular site visits on active builds to monitor progress, identify issues and ensure projects stay on track
- Represent the company at major agricultural events, exhibitions and trade shows
Qualifications Proven agricultural background with 5-10 years of industry experience.
Required Skills
- A strong understanding of the agricultural sector
- Excellent communication skills able to converse naturally with farmers
- A relationship builder focussed on securing and maintaining long term business relations
- Highly organised with the self-discipline to autonomously manage your own diary
- A collaborative team player able to work cross functionally to meet business needs
- Strong presence and credibility, with the ability to confidently lead high-value negotiations
- Driven, self-motivated, and highly trustworthy
- Good financial and commercial acumen
- Proficient IT skills
- Full UK driving licence and the desire to travel daily across the UK
