Role Profile – Technical Sales Manager
Deepwater EU Limited – Region UK, Europe, Middle East & Africa
Deepwater is a global leader in subsea corrosion control for all asset types, including oil and gas platforms, coastal terminals and offshore wind turbines. The company operates from facilities in the USA, the UK, Brazil, Norway and Australia. It has designed, built and installed more offshore cathodic protection systems than any other company and provides highly respected corrosion investigation and subsea inspection services.
The Role
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the technical sales manager is expected to achieve company sales targets. This includes managing and growing sales through servicing existing accounts, developing new prospects into customers and planning campaigns to best respond to changing market conditions. In addition, the candidate will be responsible to shepherd project proposals through the development and approval process, and for providing accurate forecasts. The Sales Manager must have an extensive background in sales and must clearly demonstrate his/her knowledge in the offshore oil, gas and wind industry. S/he must also possess a strong customer service attitude, have strong analytical, account management and relationship skills and support a professional, can-do, goal-oriented culture.
You Will Be Responsible For
- achieving bookings targets and other KPIs.
- the development and execution of an effective sales strategy in alignment with agreed upon priorities and sales plans. This includes maintaining adequate quality and activity levels as well as training staff to effectively promote Deepwater’s offering.
- coordinating all project proposals and sales activities, with a focus on producing winning bids. This includes overseeing proposed solutions and providing a liaison with the engineering and projects department for proposals under development.
- maintaining adequate quality and activity levels, in support of achieving goals. This includes weekly activity reports, logging all team activity in Salesforce, producing timely expense reports and producing proposals above and beyond customer expectations.
- preparing and monitoring sales forecasts, including review and submission for inclusion in monthly financials and EMT reporting.
- Organise and attend exhibitions in UK, Europe and Middle East
- interviewing, hiring and training new sales team members.

Position in the Organisation
Reporting to: General Manager
Location: Frimley, UK
Key Relationships
- Customers – to provide technical sales and customer service assistance
- Operations – to help develop and submit winning proposals
- General Manager – to develop sales strategies in line with company and group goals.

Experience & Qualifications
- Degree qualified and 5+ years relevant outside sales experience working in the offshore oil, gas and wind industry (or 10+ years relevant outside sales technical experience working in our industry).
- Management experience required.
- Candidate must have a track record of achieving sales goals and the ability to demonstrate they can plan and execute sales strategies.
- Technical knowledge in Corrosion control or Cathodic protection would be beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce CRM is a plus.

- Must have the ability to ‘lead by example’ and effectively coordinate with multiple departments including Marketing, R&D, Engineering, Finance and Logistics.
- Must be self-motivated, prepared to travel internationally, and must demonstrate the foresight to see what needs to be done in the position and have a strong desire to make things happen.
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize large amounts of information and stay focused, including team opportunities and accounts, leads generated from marketing and monitoring customer satisfaction with the execution of existing projects.
