Technical Sales Manager - Data Centre Sector

Location: Hybrid/ Remote working - UK based with UK & European travel

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

Contract: Permanent


Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading global manufacturer within the construction and building products sector with the recruitment of a Technical Sales Manager to support continued growth across the UK and European Data Centre market.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales professional from a roofing, cladding, façade, insulation or wider building envelope background to take ownership of a rapidly developing market.

Working closely with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, engineers, and key decision makers, you will identify projects from an early stage, influence specifications, and develop long-term commercial relationships through to project delivery.

Flexible hybrid/field-based role, with access to a nationwide network of offices and flexibility to use your nearest location when required. Regular UK travel will form part of the position, with occasional short periods of international travel.

This is what you'll be doing

  • Develop and deliver a strategic sales growth plan across the UK and European Data Centre market
  • Identify new projects, customers, and commercial opportunities across existing and emerging markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, engineers, and end users
  • Engage with key decision makers from initial concept and specification stage through to project delivery
  • Influence product specifications and provide technical and commercially focused solutions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of specification-led opportunities
  • Manage existing key accounts whilst proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Work closely with internal technical, commercial, manufacturing, and operational teams to ensure customer and project requirements are achieved
  • Deliver technical presentations and provide product guidance to customers and project stakeholders
  • Negotiate commercial agreements whilst maintaining strong margins and overall project profitability
  • Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and emerging opportunities within the Data Centre sector
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, project pipelines, forecasts, and commercial reporting
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities
  • Travel throughout the UK and Europe as required to develop relationships and support projects

The experience you'll bring

  • Proven Technical Sales, Specification Sales, or Business Development experience within the construction products or building envelope sector
  • Strong experience within roofing, cladding, façades, insulated panels, insulation, or closely related construction products
  • Experience developing relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, developers, and other key project decision makers
  • Strong understanding of specification-led and project-based sales
  • Proven ability to develop new business whilst growing and managing existing key accounts
  • Commercially focused with experience negotiating high-value projects and agreements
  • Ability to understand technical products and communicate their benefits effectively to both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Experience managing a national territory, with European or international sales experience advantageous
  • Previous exposure to Data Centres or other large-scale industrial or technically complex construction projects would be highly advantageous
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK and Europe
