Technical Sales Manager
We’re recruiting a Technical Sales Manager to develop UK business for an established supplier of sensor and electronic technologies.
This is a fully remote, field-based position combining technical sales, business development and design-in activity.
You'll work directly with engineering and procurement teams, understanding customer applications and helping identify appropriate sensing technologies before developing those opportunities commercially.
The role
You’ll be responsible for developing both new and existing customers across the UK, including:
- Identifying new customers and applications
- Developing existing accounts
- Managing opportunities from initial technical discussion through to commercial agreement
- Working with engineers to understand application requirements
- Identifying and developing design-in opportunities
- Building relationships across engineering, procurement and commercial teams
- Managing an active opportunity pipeline
- Forecasting sales and commercial activity
- Negotiating commercial agreements and winning new orders
- Keeping abreast of sensor technologies and market developments
- Regular customer visits across the UK

The technology portfolio includes applications across temperature, environmental, acceleration, gas, position, load and pressure sensing, alongside associated electronic technologies.
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll already have experience within sensor sales, although we'd also consider someone from a closely related electronic components or technical electronics background.
We're looking for:
- Technical sales, FAE or field sales experience
- Sensor or electronic component knowledge
- Experience with technical/design-in sales
- The ability to understand customer applications
- Strong business-development skills
- Commercial awareness
- Experience managing a UK territory
- A full UK driving licence

An engineering/electronics degree would be useful but isn't essential where you have equivalent industry experience.
Some customers operate within the defence sector, so eligibility to work on relevant MOD programmes would be advantageous.
Package:
- Salary: £50,000–£60,000 depending on experience
- Bonus: 13.5%
- Car allowance: £600 per month, or company car
- Location: Fully remote – UK based
- Office: Approximately once per month in Wokingham
- Contract: Permanent
