Technical Sales Manager - Pump & Treatment Rental

Location: UK / Ireland - Europe travel required

We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager - Pump & Treatment Rental to support the continued growth of our UV wastewater business across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Working across an installed base of more than 500 municipal UV wastewater systems, this role is focused on identifying refurbishment, upgrade, modernisation and expansion opportunities within existing Wedeco UV installations, and other Xylem disinfection technologies.

This is a highly visible role that combines hands-on technical assessment with strong customer interaction and commercial awareness. You will carry out condition audits, health checks and site surveys, assess system condition, identify improvement opportunities, and turn your findings into clear, high-quality reports and recommendations for both customers and internal teams.

Working closely with colleagues across Aftermarket, Engineering, Sales, Service and Project Management, you will help shape practical and commercially viable solutions that deliver value for customers while supporting Xylem’s growth strategy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for carrying out structured condition audits, health checks and site surveys on installed Wedeco UV systems and ancillaries across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
  • Through these assessments, you will identify opportunities for refurbishment, upgrade, modernisation and system expansion, with a clear focus on improving reliability, compliance, performance and lifecycle value.
  • A key part of the role is electrical and controls-based assessment. You will be expected to investigate installed systems through visual and hands-on inspection, including — where authorised and competent to do so — opening panels, assessing electrical equipment, and interrogating PLC, HMI and associated control systems to identify faults, asset condition issues and refurbishment requirements.
  • Turn your site findings into detailed, customer-ready service reports. These reports will diagnose current system condition, identify compliance or operational risks, and recommend practical next steps.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, site teams and internal stakeholders, helping translate customer needs into technically sound and commercially competitive engineering solutions.
  • Identify related service, spares, refurbishment and service agreement opportunities that support wider aftermarket growth and our capital upgrade programs.
  • Responsible for driving audit volume and delivered bookings.

Who this role would suit

This role is ideal for a technician, electrically biased service engineer, or time-served electrician who is looking for a new challenge and wants to step into a broader, more customer-facing sales engineering role with sales targets. It would particularly suit someone who enjoys fault-finding, technical assessment, problem-solving and working directly with customers to improve installed asset performance. If you already have experience with industrial process electrical equipment, control panels, wiring, testing and inspection, PLC’s, HMI and SCADA systems — especially in the water or wastewater sector — this could be an excellent next career move.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
