Technical Sales Manager

Excellent opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager to join a growing technology and engineering business, leading a high-performing sales team while remaining actively involved in customer engagement and business development. This role will suit a commercially driven sales leader with a strong new-business mindset and experience selling technical products, equipment or solutions into industrial, engineering, infrastructure or technology-focused markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a sales team to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Manage sales activity, pipeline generation, forecasting and overall team performance.
  • Remain hands-on with customers, supporting key accounts and driving new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, resellers and channel partners.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities across industrial, engineering and technology sectors.
  • Manage team performance through KPIs, coaching and structured development plans.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to maximise customer satisfaction and commercial success.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting and sales planning activities are maintained.

Key Skills Required

  • Recent hands-on B2B sales experience.
  • Recent desk-based and telephone selling experience.
  • Proven experience personally managing and developing a sales team.
  • Strong track record of managing sales activity as well as delivering sales results.
  • Demonstrable experience coaching sales professionals and addressing underperformance.
  • A willingness to remain hands-on and personally engage in sales activity.
  • Strong new-business development and hunter mentality.
  • Experience selling technical products, engineered equipment or technology solutions.
  • Experience working with distributors, resellers or channel partner networks would be advantageous.
  • Background selling into industrial, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, transportation, marine, safety, security or technology markets would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
