Role Overview

Polypipe, part of the Genuit Group, designs and manufactures products for the domestic, commercial, and industrial construction sectors. Our exceptional teams apply their first-class technical, customer service and manufacturing expertise to understand our customers’ needs and solve tomorrow’s water, climate, and ventilation challenges. Our loyal and highly skilled workforce are key to our success of delivering sustainable climate and water management solutions, everywhere.

We’re looking for a Technical Sales Representative to develop and grow our presence across regions of the Republic of Ireland.

This is a customer-focused field sales role where you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of merchant partners and contractors, building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities and helping customers find the right solutions from across the Genuit Group product portfolio.

Combining account management with new business development, you’ll follow up opportunities, develop a strong project pipeline and use your knowledge of the construction market to drive sustainable sales growth throughout your region.

We’d also be keen to hear from people currently working in internal sales within builders’ merchants who understand the construction market, enjoy developing customer relationships and are ready to take the next step into external sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their performance, requirements and buying behaviours.
  • Use your product and market knowledge to identify solutions for customers and maximise sales and profitability.
  • Keep up to date with activity across your region, identifying emerging opportunities and potential commercial challenges.
  • Increase the penetration of Genuit Group products within merchant partners and contractors across your region.
  • Identify and develop new prospective customers to help grow market share.
  • Hold regular branch reviews with key merchant partners, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and broaden product ranges.
  • Create and maintain a healthy pipeline of projects, engaging with contractors, specifiers and M&E consultants.
  • Use customer and sales information from Excel, QlikView and other databases to identify trends and support commercial decisions.
  • Work closely with marketing colleagues to deliver promotions, trade events and sales materials that support regional growth.
  • Represent Genuit Group professionally at sales meetings, training sessions, trade shows and other industry events.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience of solution-based selling within the construction industry.
  • A good understanding of the construction market and its customers.
  • The ability to confidently communicate product features, solutions, promotions and services through different channels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to listen, understand requirements and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Commercially minded, organised and comfortable managing a varied workload independently.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Full clean driving licence.
