Full job description

For more than 60 years Autoscan Ltd. has been helping customers organise and accommodate their components and documents. As a distributor of vertical storage systems, we provide Carousels and Storage Lifts to both commercial and industrial markets, that improve space utilisation, stock visibility, productivity, and user ergonomics.

Autoscan are based in Nottingham, we are a small family owned company.

Technical Sales Representative – Vertical Storage Systems

We're looking for a solutions-focused Sales representative to build relationships, win new business and deliver technical value to customers. Someone who enjoys speaking to customers, picking up the phone, and moving opportunities forward.

Part of the job will involve assisting the service and installation teams, to achieve a full understanding of the products.

This role will involve:

  • Generating new business opportunities and identify selling potential.
  • Being the first point of contact for customer enquiries.
  • Building confidence and trust with customers through clear, responsive communication.
  • Visiting customer sites to manage and interpret customer requirements.
  • Making presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
  • Following up quotations, negotiating and closing sales.
  • Offering after-sales support services.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat work and long-term relationships.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Confident, professional telephone manner and enjoys speaking with customers
  • Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple enquiries at once
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have ability to sell solutions and deliver a technical package.
  • Be confident using social media e.g. LinkedIn etc.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel will be required.

Ideal (Nice to Have)

  • A background in industrial sales.
  • Experience with automated storage systems.
  • CRM experience
  • Able to read and interpret technical data

Full training will be provided.
