Industrial Door Systems Limited (IDS) is a long-established UK provider of industrial door and loading bay systems, operating since 1986. With nationwide coverage, multiple branches, mobile workshops and an experienced engineering team supported by a fleet of 50 engineers. IDS is committed to providing reliable, professional and tailored systems to meet the individual needs of its customers, while continuing to strengthen its position as a leading provider within the industry.
Role Description
This is a full-time Technical Sales Representative role based in the London region, operating from our Chelmsford depot, with a key focus on promoting IDS’s industrial door and loading bay systems across the UK. The role combines technical sales, project coordination and client relationship management, with responsibility for developing new business and managing projects from initial enquiry through to completion. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing repair and installation projects from enquiry through to completion.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and engineering teams throughout each project.
- Preparing and managing quotations, schedules, parts ordering and technical requirements.
- Developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
- Conducting site visits to verify measurements, specifications and requirements.
- Reviewing technical drawings and providing technical guidance and support.
- Working closely with internal teams and engineers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and within agreed quality, cost and timescale expectations.

We are looking for a proactive, commercially driven and technically minded individual who can identify opportunities, build client relationships and turn enquiries into successful projects.
Pay Structure / Benefits
- Salary from £43,000+ per annum, depending on experience.
- Death in Service benefit – 3x annual salary.
- Company vehicle and fuel card.
- Competitive bonus scheme and new business commission based on quotation conversions and new sales opportunities.
- Annual team bonus structure for Technical Sales Representatives only.

Requirements / Preferred Applicant
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial products and automatic systems.
- Ability to interpret and assess technical drawings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
- Solution-focused approach to problem-solving and fault diagnosis.
- Commercially driven, with a strong focus on identifying and converting new business opportunities.
- High level of productivity, motivation and attention to detail.
- A background in technical sales, engineering or a related discipline, supported by relevant vocational training or education, is advantageous.
