About the Opportunity
micro1 is partnering with a customer to develop advanced AI systems using real-world expertise in technical and scientific sales. We are seeking experienced Sales Representatives specializing in Technical & Scientific Materials to contribute their knowledge of B2B sales, lead qualification, technical product positioning, and customer engagement.
This role is ideal for professionals who have successfully sold scientific products, laboratory equipment, industrial materials, chemicals, engineering solutions, research tools, advanced manufacturing products, or other technical offerings. You'll apply your industry knowledge to help improve how next-generation AI systems understand technical sales processes, customer interactions, and solution-based selling. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify B2B sales opportunities within technical and scientific markets.
- Develop realistic sales scenarios involving prospecting, qualification, product positioning, and customer engagement.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and product capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Translate technical product features into clear business value propositions.
- Evaluate sales conversations, proposals, and customer interactions for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Handle customer objections and develop appropriate consultative sales responses.
- Review AI-generated sales content for technical accuracy, business relevance, and communication quality.
- Document customer needs, feedback, and sales insights to support project objectives.
- Provide structured written feedback to improve model performance and reasoning quality.
- Collaborate with project teams to refine technical sales scenarios and evaluation frameworks.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales involving technical, scientific, industrial, engineering, laboratory, or specialized products.
- Proven experience prospecting, qualifying, and managing sales opportunities.
- Strong understanding of technical and scientific materials, products, or solutions.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical decision-makers.
- Experience developing value-based sales presentations and proposals.
- Strong objection-handling, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, chemicals, advanced materials, engineering solutions, industrial products, biotechnology products, or research-related technologies.
- Background in engineering, chemistry, materials science, life sciences, manufacturing, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience with long sales cycles and consultative B2B selling.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, technical evaluations, and enterprise purchasing decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to assess customer requirements.
- Experience creating sales documentation, product positioning materials, or customer-facing presentations.
- Interest in technology, AI, and data-driven sales processes.

- $45–$85/hour
