Technical Sales Specialist
Location: SE London / Home-Based
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Commission + Bonus + Company Car
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
A leading provider of warehouse automation, storage solutions and material handling systems is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join its growing UK sales team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded sales professional to take ownership of customer projects from initial enquiry through to order and successful handover.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing new business and managing customer relationships across the warehousing and logistics sector, providing technically focused solutions around racking, shelving and warehouse systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing new business opportunities and generating leads.
- Identifying customer requirements and providing technical solutions.
- Preparing quotations and converting opportunities into orders.
- Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Managing contracts and acting as the key link between customers and internal technical and installation teams.
- Developing weekly and monthly sales plans and forecasts.
- Taking end-to-end ownership of projects, from initial enquiry through to order and final handover.
- Coordinating with Engineering, Logistics, Installation and Administration teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
- Providing a high level of technical and commercial support throughout the sales process.

About You
We're looking for someone who combines technical understanding with strong commercial and sales ability.
Ideally, you will have:
- A strong technical background, ideally with Level 3–5 technical qualifications or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years' proven sales experience.
- Experience within the warehousing, logistics, material handling or storage solutions sector is highly desirable.
- A demonstrable track record of developing business and improving sales performance.
- Strong communication, presentation and listening skills.
- A proactive, commercially driven and motivated approach.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Good judgement and the confidence to work independently.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CAD or similar technical software would be advantageous.
