Location: Gloucestershire (with travel as required)

The Opportunity

Our client is looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a technical, engineering, infrastructure or construction background to play a key role in developing new business and strengthening existing client relationships.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, presenting solutions to prospective clients and securing new business, while working closely with internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Attend client meetings to present products and services.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals.
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to contract award.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and successfully secure new business.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular sales updates.
  • Represent our client at networking events, exhibitions and customer meetings where required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Business Development, Technical Sales, Sales Engineer or Account Management role.
  • A technical background or experience within engineering, infrastructure or construction.
  • A proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a desire to drive business growth.
  • A full UK driving licence.
