Technical Sales Specialist
At Diagnostics for the Real World (DRW), we are seeking a Technical Sales Specialist with strong scientific, technical, and commercial acumen, combined with drive and enthusiasm to join a company founded on scientific discovery and innovation. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to making a meaningful difference to patient care.
Experience selling diagnostic solutions to the NHS would be advantageous; however, we also welcome applications from NHS scientists and technical specialists with experience in related healthcare or diagnostic fields. Ideally, candidates will have several years’ experience, with the ability to engage confidently and communicate complex information clearly. This role requires building a network of key stakeholders across the NHS, from Pathology Management, Microbiology, Virology, Point of Care, Infection Control, and Procurement, to identify key opportunities, drive new sales, and support your customers. Familiarity with the STI networks would also be valuable.
The desired personal skillset includes strong scientific and technical knowledge/skills, project management, prioritisation, and excellent networking capabilities. You will promote a scientifically credible and positive culture and actively present on the sales plan/progress across the company. Part of your role will include working closely with the various departments within DRW.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
