Technical Sales Support Engineer Required for an Exciting New Job Opportunity

Chesterfield | £35,000-£37,000 + Benefits | Permanent | Full-Time

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading engineering organisation to recruit a Technical Sales Support Engineer to join their growing team in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong AutoCAD skills to join a highly respected business offering long-term career development and progression.

The Role

As Technical Sales Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing customer specifications, technical drawings, and tender documentation.
  • Producing accurate quotations, estimates, and tender submissions within agreed timescales.
  • Designing engineering solutions using customer requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Creating technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and, where applicable, Revit. (advantageous not essential)
  • Producing bills of materials and equipment schedules.
  • Providing technical support and guidance on product selection and design practices.
  • Liaising with internal teams and customers to resolve technical queries.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting data relating to quotations, revisions, and lead times.
  • Supporting the preparation of contract and project documentation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent AutoCAD experience.
  • Previous experience within an engineering, technical sales support, estimating, or design environment.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • A good understanding of commercial and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Mechanical engineering background.
  • Revit and/or BIM experience.
  • Experience producing technical quotations, tenders, or estimates.
  • Exposure to construction, M&E, building services, HVAC, piping, or related engineering sectors.

What You'll Receive

  • Salary of £35,000-£37,000
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working hours across a 37-hour week
  • Start times between 7:30 am and 9:30 am

Location

This role is based at the company's Chesterfield office and is 100% office-based.
