Technical Salesperson

Sparrow Construction Ltd | Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Full-time | £30,000 to £34,000 basic salary plus commission and performance bonuses

We’re growing our sales team and looking for someone who enjoys speaking with clients, spotting opportunities and turning enquiries into profitable business.

You’ll have support from our lead generation team and a separate Estimating function, while taking ownership of the client relationship and the sale. This is an opportunity to build new accounts, develop repeat business and increase your earnings through results.

About Sparrow

Sparrow Construction is a specialist façade contractor delivering windows, doors, curtain walling, cladding and glazing packages across the UK.

We work with fabricators, contractors and developers, providing installation services through to full packages covering design, supply, installation and project management. Our growth is increasingly focused on full packages, alongside our established installation business.

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership of enquiries generated by our lead generation team and pursue opportunities you identify yourself.
  • Speak with clients, understand their projects and help them establish the right package.
  • Obtain the scope, drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and schedules our Estimating team needs to prepare an accurate quotation.
  • Once Estimating provides the approved quotation, supporting notes and negotiation limits, you’ll present the offer, answer questions, follow up and work towards securing the order.
  • You’ll manage negotiations within agreed authority, obtain contract or purchase order agreement and complete the handover to Finance and Operations, following through to deposit invoicing where applicable.
  • You’ll also maintain accurate records in Capsule CRM and stay in touch with clients after the sale to identify future projects and win repeat business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who we’re looking for

  • You have a successful sales record and can explain what you personally achieved, supported by figures, examples or references.
  • You’re confident talking with clients, asking useful questions, handling objections and following up consistently.
  • You can find new opportunities while also building relationships that lead to repeat orders.
  • Construction experience would be a strong advantage. Experience with windows, doors, curtain walling, glazing or cladding would be particularly valuable.
  • Some understanding of drawings and specifications is useful, but it is not essential. We will provide training on our services, systems and the project information you need to obtain from clients.

Salary and benefits

  • Basic salary: £30,000 to £34,000, depending on experience and proven sales performance.
  • Commission: 5.5% of final project profit on eligible sales you secure, applying from day one. Commission is paid after project completion and confirmation of final profit.
  • Performance bonuses: After successful probation, up to £500 per quarter and £3,000 annually, subject to performance targets.

For illustration, £2.5 million of eligible completed sales at a 20% final project margin would generate £27,500 commission. Including basic salary and all bonuses, that would mean total annual earnings of £62,500 to £66,500. Actual earnings depend on results, project profit and completion timing.

We also provide a laptop, phone, workplace pension, 20 days’ annual leave plus eight bank holidays, and a fuel card for authorised business travel. A car maintenance contribution will apply when regular client travel begins, under agreed arrangements.

Location and hours

  • You’ll work from our Brixworth office, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break.
  • Occasional client visits will help you introduce Sparrow and maintain relationships.
  • You will report directly to our Managing Director
