About Amber Labs

Amber Labs is a people-first technology consultancy delivering secure, innovative and scalable digital solutions across the UK public sector. We bring together architects, engineers, designers and delivery specialists to solve complex technology challenges and support large-scale digital transformation.

Our culture is collaborative and supportive, giving experienced technical specialists the opportunity to make a real impact, share knowledge and work on challenging problems across modern technology environments.

The Role

We're looking for experienced Senior Security, Cloud and Identity Architects to support complex transformation programmes across security modernisation, cloud transformation and enterprise identity. You'll work at the intersection of security architecture, cloud architecture and identity, helping organisations modernise legacy environments, strengthen security controls and develop scalable, resilient technology capabilities.

This is an opportunity for architects who enjoy working on complex enterprise challenges and influencing architecture at a strategic level, while still being comfortable engaging with detailed technical design.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead security, cloud and identity architecture across complex transformation programmes.
  • Design and govern secure, scalable and resilient enterprise technology solutions.
  • Develop Zero Trust architecture and security modernisation strategies.
  • Design and evolve Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities.
  • Work across Identity Governance & Administration and access management solutions.
  • Design Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and authorisation approaches.
  • Support privileged access and privileged user security capabilities.
  • Develop cloud migration and hybrid / multi-cloud architecture strategies.
  • Support the migration and modernisation of legacy hosting and identity platforms.
  • Reduce technical debt and legacy technology dependencies.
  • Apply security principles and recognised standards including NIST, CIS and Secure-by-Design.
  • Produce architecture artefacts and technical designs and support architecture governance.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and communicate complex security and architecture decisions clearly.
  • Provide technical assurance across services and ensure solutions align with wider technology strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
