£35,000 - £45,000 DOE | Full Time | Wolverhampton | UK Applications Only

We're looking for an experienced Technical SEO, GEO & AI Search Specialist to take ownership of our organic search strategy across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search platforms.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands technical SEO in depth and is excited by the future of search. You'll be responsible for improving organic visibility, driving qualified traffic, increasing revenue from search, and helping The Big Phone Store become a leading authority within our industry.

You will work across technical SEO, Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), AI search visibility, site performance, structured data, crawling, indexing and search analytics.

Skills Needed

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Technical SEO role
  • Strong understanding of Technical SEO principles and best practices
  • Experience conducting technical SEO audits and implementing recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Search Console
  • Experience using SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog or similar
  • Strong understanding of crawling, indexing and website architecture
  • Experience implementing and optimising structured data and schema markup
  • Experience improving Core Web Vitals and website performance
  • Understanding of JavaScript SEO
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret data and make commercially focused decisions
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)
  • Experience optimising visibility within AI-powered search platforms
  • Understanding of AI search technologies including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity
  • Ecommerce SEO experience
  • Shopify experience
  • Experience with large product catalogues
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL or automation tools
  • Digital PR and authority-building experience
  • Knowledge of entity optimisation and knowledge graphs

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the company's SEO and GEO strategy
  • Improve rankings, traffic and organic revenue
  • Monitor and improve technical website health
  • Optimise crawling, indexing and internal linking
  • Manage structured data and schema implementation
  • Develop strategies for AI search visibility and answer engine optimisation
  • Conduct keyword, competitor and market research
  • Analyse website and search performance data
  • Work closely with developers and marketing teams to implement improvements
  • Monitor industry changes and identify new growth opportunities
