Technical SEO Specialist

We are seeking a Technical SEO Specialist to oversee the technical health of our e-commerce platform, ensuring that our extensive portfolio of product pages, categories, and editorial content is effectively crawled, indexed, and ranked by search engines.

This isn't a "run a report once a month" role. You'll be the person who actually owns crawlability, indexing and site architecture end to end, digging into crawl data, fixing what's broken, and partnering closely with our web development and product teams to make sure nothing stands between our content and the search results it deserves.

Protein Works is scaling fast, and our catalogue keeps growing with it. That means there's always another crawl budget to optimise, another schema type to roll out, another Core Web Vital to chase. If you're the kind of person who gets restless when something's "good enough" and wants to see your fixes show up in real organic growth, this is a genuinely meaty technical SEO role.

About Protein Works

Protein Works is a high-growth DTC nutrition brand with a clear mission: help people live healthier, happier lives through the power of nutrition.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We are growing, investing and hiring with purpose. If you want to join a business with the energy of a challenger and the foundations of a market leader, this is the right moment to do it.

What You'll Do

  • Own the technical health of our e-commerce platform, running regular site crawls to catch and resolve crawl errors, broken links and rendering issues before they cost us traffic.
  • Take control of indexing, managing XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags and noindex directives to keep our crawl budget focused on the pages that actually matter.
  • Partner with our web development team to push Core Web Vitals, image compression and server response times in the right direction.
  • Tame faceted navigation, optimising filter and sort URLs to shut down duplicate content and index bloat across thousands of product listings.
  • Build and maintain structured data, including product, review, aggregate rating and organisation schema, to help search engines (and shoppers) understand our pages properly.
  • Track site health daily using Google Search Console, Screaming Frog and log file analysis, spotting problems early rather than reacting to them later.
