Job Description

The Role

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in science and its practical application and looking to develop their career in consumer product safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.

Working closely with, and being mentored by our Technical Lead, you will develop expertise in the regulations affecting consumer products across global markets, including UK and EU REACH, POPs, GPSR, US Federal and State regulations, and Proposition 65, alongside emerging sustainability requirements such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), ESPR, CSRD, and EUDR.

We are looking for someone with a strong scientific foundation who is curious, quick to learn, and able to understand complex technical information and translate it into clear, practical advice for clients. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within a testing laboratory, quality, compliance, product safety, or related technical environment and be looking to further develop their expertise in a customer-facing role.

Over time, you will become a key technical contact for our clients, supporting them with product risk assessments, specifications, testing programs, and regulatory queries, as well as delivering webinars, training, and regulatory updates. As your expertise develops, you will take increasing ownership of technical advice and build towards becoming a trusted subject matter expert within the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and regulatory support and advice to clients across a range of consumer product categories.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring enquiries are managed professionally, efficiently, and in a customer-focused manner.
  • Interpret UK, EU, US, and other international product safety and chemical regulations and translate these into practical requirements for clients.
  • Support clients in understanding testing requirements, compliance obligations, and emerging sustainability legislation and requirements, including DPP, ESPR, CSRD, and EUDR.
  • Support the delivery of product safety and regulatory risk assessments, considering product type, materials, intended use, and market of sale.
  • Support the development of appropriate risk-based testing and compliance programs in conjunction with our laboratory and technical teams.
  • Coordinate testing, compliance, and consultancy projects between clients, laboratory teams, and technical specialists.
  • Develop, review, and maintain client product specifications, Restricted Substances Lists (RSLs), testing protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide regulatory horizon scanning and communicate relevant legislative changes to clients and internal teams.
  • Support clients with technical queries, compliance challenges, and product investigations, translating technical information into clear and practical guidance.
  • Support and progressively take ownership of delivering client training, webinars, workshops, and presentations on regulatory and product compliance topics.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to support client meetings, proposals, and new business opportunities.
  • Identify emerging regulatory requirements and opportunities to develop new consultancy, testing, and sustainability services.
  • Build strong client relationships and become a trusted technical point of contact for regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead to develop technical expertise and progressively take ownership of client-facing technical activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
