We’re looking for a Technical Apprentice to join our Building Envelope Technical Services team in Preston.

Our Technical team support a wide range of flat roofing projects across the UK and are well established as industry experts. We are well tasked with offering enhanced levels of design, information, and support to customers and are continually evolving the team to ensure we meet the needs of stakeholders.


Job Description

Purpose of the Role

This office-based role is all about supporting the high-performing Building Envelope Technical Team.

You will manage incoming enquiries to ensure they reach the required member of staff, collecting additional information where possible to ensure resolutions are achieved accurately and as efficiently as possible to maintain the high customer service levels provided by Sika.

As an apprentice, you’ll gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and learn about our various roofing systems. You’ll develop practical skills that will help you build a strong foundation for a career within the construction industry. While growing professionally, you’ll also work towards achieving an NVQ Level 3 qualification, with excellent support for both your education and workplace learning.

As an Apprentice, you will:

  • Manage incoming calls and emails from both internal and external stakeholders, gathering additional data as required and allocating accordingly.
  • Monitor internal specification requests, ensuring information is complete and accurate.
  • Engage in technical processes to ensure project trajectory is maintained, progressing projects from opportunities through to onsite and final guarantee stages.

You will be given the opportunity to complete a course at Preston college to facilitate your personal development with time allocated to complete coursework and attend monthly classes.

Your ability to solve problems will be developed alongside your technical knowledge throughout your time at Sika.
