Technical Services Manager
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to oversee the technical operations, building services and M&E projects across a busy, complex mixed-use estate in London.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent contractor management skills and a confident, customer-facing approach. The estate incorporates residential and retail assets, with complex building systems and a diverse range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will manage both on-site teams and third-party contractors, oversee M&E projects, support the mobilisation and commissioning of building systems, and ensure the estate operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Experience in residential assets and complex BMS systems is highly desirable. This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities and communicates effectively with residents, retail tenants, contractors and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance and performance of M&E systems and building services.
- Manage on-site engineering teams and third-party contractors, monitoring performance, compliance and service delivery.
- Oversee M&E projects, plant upgrades, remedial works and lifecycle replacements.
- Support the mobilisation, commissioning and handover of building systems, including complex BMS platforms.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and technical fault resolution.
- Ensure statutory compliance, health and safety requirements and contractor procedures are maintained.
- Coordinate works across residential and retail areas, minimising disruption to occupiers and visitors.
- Work closely with estate management, residents, retail tenants, consultants and service partners to resolve issues and maintain high service standards.
- Monitor project delivery, budgets, contractor performance and technical documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
