Role: Technical Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager for our Major+ division to oversee all technical aspects of our projects, ensuring design coordination, technical compliance, and seamless integration of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) services across multiple high-profile commercial fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Delivery: Oversee design coordination, MEP integration, and technical compliance across all trades.
  • Review Technical Documentation: Interpret design drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to ensure feasibility, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Support Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors with technical advice.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the technical liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and third-party consultants.
  • Coordinate MEP Installations: Manage complex MEP installations, ensuring correct sequencing, testing, and commissioning.
  • Chair Technical Meetings: Resolve issues, discuss buildability, and maintain programme timelines with subcontractors and consultants.
  • Maintain Technical Documentation: Ensure accuracy and up-to-date status of method statements, risk assessments, and O&M manuals.
  • Implement QHSE Protocols: Maintain ODGroup QHSE protocols and ISO standards within all technical aspects of projects.
  • Monitor and Resolve Issues: Ensure solutions to technical design issues are cost-effective and compliant with project requirements.
  • Contribute to Procurement: Review technical specifications for materials, systems, and subcontractor packages.
  • Mentor Technical Staff: Develop junior technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support Commercial Team: Provide technical input on variations, change orders, and value engineering proposals.
  • Ensure Smooth Handovers: Provide full technical documentation, training, and post-completion support for clients.

  • Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, Technical Manager, or similar role within commercial fit-out, construction, or interiors projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building services, and fit-out construction processes.
  • Experience interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues on-site.
  • Experience with project management and technical software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations, building codes, and H&S requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a confident client-facing presence.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
