Technical Services Manager (M&E Bias)
London
£85,000-£95,000 + Bonus + Package
A leading Design & Build fit-out contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Services Manager to join its growing London team.
The business delivers some of the UK's highest-quality commercial office and laboratory fit-out projects, with a reputation for technical excellence, collaborative delivery, and exceptional finish. Working on projects ranging from £5 million to £20 million, you'll play a key role in ensuring M&E services are coordinated, buildable, and delivered to the highest possible standard.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Services Manager or Senior Building Services Manager looking to join a business delivering complex, high-specification projects.
The Role
Working across multiple projects, you will provide technical leadership from tender stage through to commissioning and handover.
- You'll work closely with Pre-Construction, Design, Commercial, and Project Delivery teams, ensuring all M&E elements are fully coordinated, technically compliant, and buildable before construction begins, while continuing to support projects through delivery.
- This is a strategic role with a high-level overview of projects, becoming involved where your technical expertise adds the greatest value, particularly during key project milestones and complex installation phases.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across commercial office and laboratory fit-out projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure complete and buildable M&E packages.
- Identify design risks, clashes, and opportunities before construction begins.
- Coordinate consultants, designers, and specialist subcontractors.
- Review technical submissions, RFIs, samples, and design changes.
- Support Project Managers throughout the construction phase.
- Attend site during key installation milestones and critical phases of the programme.
- Oversee commissioning strategy, witnessing, and final handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with design intent, programme, and quality expectations.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement across project delivery.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, Senior Building Services Manager, or similar role.
- Previous commercial office fit-out experience is essential.
- Experience delivering laboratory fit-out projects is highly desirable.
- Strong Mechanical & Electrical building services knowledge.
- Experience working for a main contractor or Design & Build fit-out contractor.
- Excellent understanding of design coordination, commissioning, and project delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of Design & Build procurement.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
