An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Services Manager / Engineering Manager
You’ll be joining a fast-growing, privately owned Facilities Management and Projects business that has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality technical services across premium commercial environments.
The business takes a modern, hands-on approach to FM, combining strong technical delivery with genuine senior-level client engagement. The opportunity
This is a high-profile, client-facing position with responsibility for the technical performance of a sophisticated commercial building and a team of 10 engineers.
You’ll act as the senior technical presence on site, working closely with the client, engineering team and specialist contractors to ensure the building operates safely, efficiently and to an exceptional standard.
The engineering team consists of:
- 8 Shift Engineers
- 2 Day Engineers
You’ll have genuine ownership of the site, with responsibility spanning engineering performance, compliance, people management, client relationships, subcontractors and continuous improvement.

The role
As Technical Services Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day engineering operation while maintaining the highest levels of technical compliance and client service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing the on-site engineering team
- Taking ownership of all M&E and technical building services
- Ensuring PPM and reactive maintenance is completed safely and effectively
- Maintaining statutory compliance across all building systems
- Providing technical leadership across critical building infrastructure
- Managing specialist subcontractors and service partners
- Monitoring site performance, engineering standards and service delivery
- Acting as a key technical contact for the client
- Managing client expectations, reporting and technical escalations
- Overseeing Health & Safety, permit-to-work systems and site compliance
- Supporting budgets, asset management and lifecycle planning
- Reviewing plant performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Driving engineering best practice and continuous improvement across the site

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced technical leader who combines strong engineering knowledge with the ability to manage people and build trusted client relationships.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Technical Services Manager, Engineering Manager, Technical Manager or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical building services
- Experience managing an engineering team within a corporate, commercial or critical environment
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and specialist service providers
- Good knowledge of statutory compliance and planned maintenance requirements
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and permit-to-work procedures
- Experience with asset management, lifecycle planning and engineering performance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
