Technical Services Manager

Up to £71,750 base salary | Annual Bonus | Chichester

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and deliver food safety, technical, and compliance strategies across Nature’s Way Foods, ensuring safe, legal, and high-quality food is consistently produced. The role has accountability for supplier assurance, technical compliance systems, and ethical standards, while maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and ensuring alignment with regulatory, customer, and industry requirements.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining due diligence, supporting supplier performance, and protecting customer trust through robust compliance frameworks, auditing, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and deliver food safety and technical compliance strategy, policy and procedure across the business.
  • Lead the Supplier Assurance and Specifications team, managing supply base food safety, due diligence and integrity.
  • Monitor supplier legal compliance (pesticide MRL, raw material micro) and lead investigation of out-of-spec results.
  • Manage implementation and auditing of the NWF Compliance Standard across all sites.
  • Report food safety and compliance KPIs to the business and deputise on key customer and third-party technical committees.
  • Support delivery of the NPD/EPD growth agenda through the 7-stage development process.
  • Create, implement, and continuously improve food safety and technical compliance strategies, policies, and procedures within the QMS
  • Partner with senior leadership, customers, and suppliers to maintain best-in-class food safety and due diligence standards, representing NWF as required

You will have

  • Proven auditing experience, ideally within FMCG or perishable/fresh produce categories.
  • Strong understanding of UK/EU food and pesticide legislation.
  • Experience working with major multiple retailers and foodservice customers, across multi-site operations.
  • Excellent people management, communication and stakeholder skills, with the integrity to influence at Exec level.
  • Lead Auditor / Assessor qualification.
  • Advanced Food Hygiene (or equivalent) and HACCP Level 3–4.
  • Degree or equivalent in Food Technology (desirable)
