A leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Services Manager to join its established Building Services team, working across high quality commercial construction projects in London.
This is a senior position for an established TSM who is comfortable taking full ownership of the mechanical and electrical elements of a project, from design and coordination through to delivery, commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Director, Design Team, Commercial Team, and specialist subcontractors to ensure all Building Services packages are delivered to the highest standard.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Taking full responsibility for the M&E delivery of commercial projects
- Managing mechanical and electrical subcontractors
- Leading design and technical coordination meetings
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
- Managing programme, progress, and key M&E milestones
- Identifying technical issues and driving solutions
- Monitoring quality of installation and carrying out inspections
- Managing commissioning, testing, and handover
- Ensuring O&M information and project documentation is completed correctly
- Working closely with consultants, clients, and internal project teams
- Managing Building Services risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting junior members of the Technical Services team

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience as a Technical Services Manager, M&E Manager, or Building Services Manager
- Strong experience working for a main contractor
- A proven track record delivering commercial construction projects
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Experience managing projects from design through to completion
- Excellent subcontractor management skills
- Strong communication and client-facing ability
- The confidence to take ownership and make decisions
- A strong understanding of programme, quality, commissioning, and handover
