About the Role
Diverse Commercial Solutions Ltd is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Technical Services Manager to lead and grow our HVAC, electrical and planned preventative maintenance services. This role requires more than general facilities management experience. We are specifically looking for someone with a strong hands-on technical background who has previously worked on the tools and has extensive practical knowledge of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building services. You will combine technical expertise with operational leadership, contract management and commercial development. You will take ownership of the delivery and performance of our technical maintenance contracts while identifying opportunities to improve services, increase contract value and support the continued growth of the division. You must be confident assessing technical requirements, supporting engineers, reviewing quotations, identifying remedial works and discussing complex maintenance issues with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking overall responsibility for the delivery of HVAC, electrical and planned preventative maintenance contracts.
- Managing PPM schedules and ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Providing technical guidance and support to engineers, coordinators and subcontractors.
- Reviewing technical reports, service sheets and engineer recommendations.
- Assessing HVAC, mechanical and electrical maintenance requirements.
- Identifying faults, remedial works, compliance issues and additional revenue opportunities.
- Reviewing and approving quotations for planned, reactive and remedial works.
- Attending client meetings, site surveys, technical inspections and contract reviews.
- Monitoring contract performance, service levels, statutory compliance and profitability.
- Managing engineers, technical teams, subcontractors and internal coordination teams.
- Building strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Supporting the development of new HVAC, electrical and technical maintenance contracts.
- Preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
- Supporting the mobilisation and technical setup of new contracts.
- Monitoring labour, materials and subcontractor costs.
- Ensuring accurate asset, compliance and maintenance records are maintained within the company’s CAFM system.
- Providing regular operational, technical and commercial reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in line with health and safety requirements, relevant legislation and industry standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
