Technical Services Manager – London

London & South | £65,000 - £75,000 + Benefits

A leading property consultancy and real estate services business is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to oversee Technical Facilities Management across a prestigious commercial property portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional to join a high-performing team, providing strategic and operational support across a diverse portfolio of premium commercial assets.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring buildings operate safely, efficiently and sustainably, while working closely with Facilities Management teams, Building Surveyors, sustainability specialists, contractors and clients.

The Opportunity

As Technical Services Manager, you will act as the technical lead across the London & South portfolio, providing engineering expertise, contractor management and consultancy support across a range of technical services activities.

This role offers exposure across operational FM, compliance, project delivery, building optimisation and sustainability initiatives, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their technical influence within the commercial property sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical facilities management across a portfolio of high-quality commercial properties.
  • Manage and develop relationships with M&E contractors and technical supply chain partners.
  • Lead technical audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Provide engineering advice and support to FM teams, clients and wider stakeholders.
  • Support landlord-led fit-out works, refurbishment projects and redevelopment activities.
  • Review contractor performance, quotations, planned preventative maintenance and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, British Standards and industry best practice.
  • Support building optimisation, energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist with the implementation of smart building technologies and Net Zero strategies.
  • Chair contractor meetings and ensure actions are effectively managed through to completion.

About You

We are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware individual with experience operating within commercial property environments.

You will ideally have:

  • 2-4+ years' experience in a Technical Services Manager, Engineering Manager or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of building engineering, M&E services and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience managing technical contractors and supply chain partners.
  • Experience supporting landlord fit-out projects and building works.
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation including L8, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH and CDM.
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, plant operation and building services compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients, occupiers, contractors and internal teams.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM or similar professional qualifications would be advantageous.

The Business

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-5:30pm
  • Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm
