Technical Service Manager
We're seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations across one or more sites. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring all contracted services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legal, statutory, contractual, and client requirements. You will act as the primary point of contact for operational matters, resolving issues promptly and professionally while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works, ensuring high standards of safety and workmanship.
- Deputise Facilities Manager in their absence.
- Support site-based engineering and facilities teams.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements are met supporting both on site engineers and Contractors.
- Utilise CAFM systems to track performance, assets, and compliance activities.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Ensure technical standards are maintained across all building systems and infrastructure.
- Manage faults, breakdowns, testing, and inspections, particularly across critical Defence assets and Naval accommodation.
- Act as Authorised Person (AP) where required.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with Permit to Work.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications:
- Technical background (electrical, mechanical, or building services)
- Proven experience in Facilities Management (Hard Services)
- Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements
- Experience managing engineers and contractors
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experienced in using CAFM systems to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, asset data, and statutory compliance activities.

Desirable:
- Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND, City & Guilds, NVQ)
- IOSH / NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification
- Experience within government or secure environments
- Knowledge of frameworks such as RM6232
