Product Quality and Technical Services Manager
Salary: Competitive salary
Location: Milton Keynes
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – minimum 60% of time at an office or business site, with the remainder available for home working
Contract: Full-time
Overview
Our client, a major automotive business, is seeking a Product Quality and Technical Services Manager to lead specialist teams covering product quality, technical support and technical services.
Reporting to a senior functional leader, you will oversee consumer protection relating to automotive products, manage product and safety issues and ensure effective technical support across multiple brands and retailer networks. You will work closely with factories, internal teams, legal specialists and regulatory bodies to improve product quality, first-time fix performance and customer satisfaction.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, including developing technical support systems, leading change and using technical and customer data to identify and resolve product concerns.

- Lead, motivate and develop product quality, technical support and technical service teams.
- Oversee the management and resolution of product quality and safety issues.
- Ensure effective consumer protection relating to automotive products.
- Deliver cohesive technical support across multiple brands and retailer networks.
- Use trend, warranty, roadside and customer data to identify product concerns and drive resolution.
- Build effective relationships with factories, brands, retailer networks, legal teams and external regulatory bodies.
- Lead the functional design and specification of technical support systems.
- Drive product quality improvements, change initiatives and projects through to mainstream use.
Requirements
- Strong leadership experience, including motivating and developing technical teams while balancing strategic and operational priorities.
- Detailed knowledge of automotive aftersales.
- At least five years' strong technical knowledge of current vehicle technology, service and repair procedures.
- Extensive electric vehicle knowledge.
- Experience managing product quality, technical support or safety-related issues.
- Experience using trend, warranty, roadside and customer data to identify concerns and support effective resolution.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, networking and negotiation skills.
- Experience working across brands, factories, retailer networks, legal teams and external regulatory bodies.
- Experience of change management and taking systems or projects from initiation into mainstream use.
