Technical Solutions Architect

About the Role
This is an opportunity to grow into a senior technical leadership position with a team building next-generation infrastructure for regulated financial markets.
You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and client delivery, helping evolve the architecture of a ledger-based post-trade platform. You'll start hands-on as a senior engineer, and take on increasing ownership of system design, technical direction, and solution architecture as you grow into the role.

What You'll Do
Architecture & System Design
- Design secure, scalable distributed systems for regulated environments
- Define and evolve system architecture, APIs, and integration patterns
- Apply sound software design patterns and architectural principles
- Contribute to decisions on ledger and smart contract design
- Build in auditability, resilience, and operational robustness from the outset

Distributed Ledger & Digital Assets
- Work directly with distributed ledger technology and smart contracts
- Help design models covering tokenised and natively digital assets
- Work on atomic settlement, and DvP/RvP settlement mechanisms
- Explore integration concepts for central bank digital currencies
- Weigh up trade-offs between on-chain and off-chain components
Financial Services Context
- Translate regulatory and market-structure requirements into technical design
- Build a working understanding of settlement models and post-trade infrastructure
- Operate within relevant compliance frameworks (e.g. data and securities regulation)
Engineering & Delivery
- Write production-quality code (Java, JavaScript, Solidity, SQL)
- Review code and help set engineering best practice
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing strategy, and observability
Communication & Influence
- Explain complex technical ideas clearly to engineers, product, clients, and regulators where relevant
- Adapt your message to different audiences
- Use structured, persuasive communication to increase the impact of the technology
- Contribute to technical documentation and client-facing materials

What You'll Bring
Technical
- A track record designing and building software products
- Solid grounding in distributed systems principles
- Hands-on experience with distributed ledgers and/or blockchain platforms
- Familiarity with tokenisation and digital asset concepts
- Strong API design skills (REST, event-driven architecture, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Solidity, and SQL
Financial Services Knowledge
- Understanding of post-trade processes
- Familiarity with securities depositories, DvP/RvP models, and atomic settlement
- An appreciation of the regulatory constraints around financial infrastructure
Communication & Leadership Potential
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable adjusting technical depth for different audiences
- Structured, persuasive thinker
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity
- Genuine ambition to grow into a Technical Solutions Architect role
- Ownership mindset and resilience suited to a fast-moving, early-stage environment
