Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain architecture artefacts including High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, reference architectures, reusable patterns, templates, and Architecture Decision Records
- Design and evolve enterprise-scale data and analytics platforms built using open-source technologies
- Evaluate open-source components and vendor technologies through technical assessments and proof-of-concept implementations
- Document architectural tradeoffs and drive technology standardization across engineering platforms
- Own end-to-end solution designs for custom-built cybersecurity applications
- Translate business cybersecurity data and regulatory requirements into secure and supportable technical solutions
- Provide architecture and solution design guidance to software engineering, data engineering, and platform teams
- Collaborate with architecture and governance teams to ensure alignment with policies, controls, standards, and technical guardrails
- Facilitate technical design workshops, architecture reviews, and governance forums
- Design solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, cost-effective, and operationally supportable
- Embed security controls covering identity and access, encryption, secrets management, logging, vulnerability management, and supply-chain security
- Support engineering teams from requirements and design through implementation, deployment, and production support
- Contribute hands-on to technical delivery including coding, prototyping, and solution validation where required
- Maintain technical documentation and communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work across globally distributed teams and influence delivery outcomes without formal authority

To be successful in this role you should have:
- Demonstrable experience designing, deploying, and operating large-scale data platforms
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies and petabyte-scale data environments
- Strong end-to-end Solution Architecture and Technical Design experience
- Experience creating HLDs, LLDs, reference architectures, design patterns, and Architecture Decision Records
- Experience evaluating technologies, running proof of concepts, and documenting technical tradeoffs
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and traditional on-premises hosting environments
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP is beneficial
- Experience designing custom applications from requirements through production operations and support
- Understanding of Threat Modelling and Secure-by-Design practices
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management including RBAC, ABAC, privileged access, and service-to-service authentication
- Understanding of encryption in transit and at rest, key management, and secrets management
- Knowledge of secure logging, telemetry, auditability, and evidence-based control assurance
- Understanding of Secure SDLC, Vulnerability Management, and Software Supply Chain Security
- Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and influencing skills
- Ability to balance target architecture with delivery timelines, operational requirements, and cost constraints
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across different geographies, time zones, and cultures
