Technical Sourcer

Location: UK Remote
Role Type: Full-time (12-month FTC)
Industry Focus: TechBio, AI for Science, AIxBio, Biotech, Deep Tech, AI/ML, Life Sciences

About Talvo

We are the strategic hiring partner for frontier AI companies that are transforming the future of medicine and challenging traditional ways of thinking through novel applications of AI. We don’t just “fill roles”; we embed ourselves as a consultative partner in our clients’ ecosystems to architect world-class teams.

Our reputation is built on deep domain authority in AI for Science, and over a decade of talent acquisition experience inside some of the world’s most renowned technology companies. We operate with high intensity and relentless precision because the companies we support are not just solving complex problems. They are changing the world.

About This Role

You will be deployed full-time into one of our existing AIxBio embedded hiring partnerships, where you will work as a Technical Sourcer alongside one of our Talent Partners. This client is a technically complex business operating at the intersection of AI, engineering and science. You will act as an extension of their talent team, owning, building and delivering a proactive and deeply creative sourcing and pipelining strategy to support a wide variety of technical and scientific roles, advising hiring managers, and working in partnership with the Talent Partner to deliver talent that raises the bar.

You won't just support the team. You'll own your pipelines and be accountable for the results, operating with a high degree of autonomy. You will be the trusted sourcing partner that leaders rely on to make critical talent decisions, and you will deliver with pace and precision, underpinned by a data-driven, methodical and organised approach.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Always-On Sourcing: Build and run a proactive, high-volume sourcing engine across AI/ML, engineering and scientific roles. Volume matters, but never at the expense of quality.
  • Future-Proof Pipelines: Map and pipeline talent for roles before they open, from low-level GPU and ML infrastructure engineers to medicinal chemists, biologists and proteomics scientists, so the team never starts from zero.
  • Forensic, Multi-Channel Search: Go well beyond LinkedIn Recruiter. Use GitHub, publications, conferences, research communities and open source to find the people who don't want to be found.
  • AI-First Sourcing: Use AI tools to automate, scale and sharpen your search. Build your own prompts, workflows and tools rather than waiting for someone else to.
  • Candidate Engagement: Craft outreach that gets replies, run initial screening calls, and tell a compelling story to candidates who may not know the company yet. Where needed, take candidates all the way through to offer.
  • Exceptional Candidate Experience: High-touch, keeping the candidate pipeline informed and feeling cared for, even when unsuccessful.
  • Talent Partner Collaboration: Work hand in glove with the Talent Partner and the client's talent lead, feeding their searches with high-calibre talent and passing on full context and data for every candidate you hand over and pipeline you build.
  • Insights and Reporting: Track your funnel (response rates, conversion, pipeline health) and turn it into simple reports and market insights that help hiring managers and founders make fast, informed decisions.
  • Startup Mindset: Raise your hand for anything. Small team, high stakes, no task too big or too small.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Bring

Must haves

  • Master of Your Craft: You're a sourcer by trade and proud of it. You see sourcing as a discipline, not a stepping stone. You geek out on search techniques, talent mapping and market intelligence, and you're always refining your approach.
  • Volume with Precision: A proven track record of building high-volume pipelines for hard-to-fill technical or scientific roles, without ever compromising on quality.
  • Technically Fluent: You understand what great technical and scientific talent looks like and calibrate fast on complex roles, from ML and GPU engineers to research scientists.
  • AI-Native: You use AI tools every day, and you've built your own prompts, workflows or automations to source smarter and faster. You're genuinely excited by where this is going.
  • Data-Obsessed: You don't just say "it's going well." You say "I mapped 40 companies, found 180 prospects, contacted 120, and have a 22% response rate." Data drives every conversation you have.
  • Moves Fast Without Dropping Balls: You can run pipelines for multiple roles and stakeholders at once, with the structure and organisation to keep quality and momentum high.
  • Thrives in Ambiguity: Priorities shift overnight in a fast-growing startup. You adapt quickly, stay solutions-focused and own your outcomes without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Positive Energy: You're the person people love working with. Collaborative, energetic and happy to roll up your sleeves. In a small team, no task is beneath you.
  • ATS Systems & Processes: the ability to organise pipelines using tags, talent pools & identifiable markers

Nice to Haves

  • Sourcing experience in AIxBio or TechBio, ideally at AI-first drug discovery companies. Adjacent AI/ML experience also welcome.
  • An understanding of drug discovery and biotech hiring, such as medicinal chemistry, biology or clinical roles, and the teams needed to take programmes into the clinic.
  • Startup or scale-up experience, including AI startups, where you didn't have a big TA team to lean on.
  • Experience taking candidates through to offer, with a strong acceptance rate.

This Role Might Not Be For You If...

  • You rely solely on LinkedIn: If your sourcing starts and ends with a keyword search on LinkedIn Recruiter, you will struggle here.
  • You're not excited by AI: If you haven't embraced AI tools, or see them as a threat rather than a force multiplier, this isn't the right fit.
  • You'd rather be closing than sourcing: This role is sourcing first. If you see sourcing as a stepping stone or a lesser skill than extending and closing offers, this isn't for you.
  • You need structure handed to you: You'll have support and guidance, but you need to drive your own day, set your own priorities and own your outcomes.
