Technical Specialist - Business Architecture
Derby - Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Specialist - Business Architecture to join the Enterprise Systems & Digital Strategy team.
In this role, you will help define, govern, and evolve the business capabilities, processes, information models, and operating frameworks required to deliver our strategic transformation agenda.
You will act as a key bridge between business strategy, operational delivery, and digital transformation, ensuring future-state business processes, organizational structures, data requirements, and technology solutions remain aligned throughout the lifecycle of change. A key focus will be owning the relationship between business process architecture and the digital solutions delivered through Workstream 1 (WS1), ensuring technology investments support defined business capabilities, processes, and strategic outcomes.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain enterprise business capability models and define future-state operating models aligned to strategic outcomes.
- Lead current-state and future-state process design, including value streams, process hierarchies, and business workflows.
- Drive process simplification, standardization, and optimization, ensuring designs are scalable, compliant, and measurable.
- Own the relationship between business process architecture and digital solutions delivered through Workstream 1 (WS1).
- Maintain end-to-end traceability between strategic objectives, business capabilities, processes, information requirements, and delivered digital capabilities.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Delivery Teams to ensure business intent is maintained throughout solution delivery.
- Define business information requirements and business data models, supporting effective decision-making and operational processes.
- Support the design of future organizational and operating models and assess the impact of transformation initiatives.
- Conduct business change and capability assessments, identifying process, organizational, and operational impacts.
- Support business case development, investment decisions, and benefits realization activities.
- Apply business and enterprise architecture governance standards and provide architectural assurance and challenge across transformation programs.
- Support the continued development and improvement of business architecture methods, standards, and practices.

Position Qualifications:
- Significant experience in Business Architecture, Enterprise Transformation, Process Architecture, or Operating Model Design.
- Demonstrable experience linking business strategy and operational requirements to technology delivery.
- Experience leading complex process or business transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of business capability modeling and process architecture.
- Experience working across both business and technical stakeholder communities.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively across complex transformation programs.
- Experience translating business needs into actionable requirements for architecture and delivery teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Defence environments.
- Experience supporting Digital Thread, PLM, ERP, MBSE, AI, Data, or Enterprise Transformation programs.
- Knowledge of relevant architecture and improvement methodologies, such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, Lean Enterprise, Value Stream Management, or Business Process Management.
- Experience working within regulated environments.
- Relevant professional certification or qualification, such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, BCS Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or Change Management.
