On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About The Organisation
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Data & Analytics team as a Technical Specialist within our Enablement Service, contributing to the design, build and ongoing support of high-quality data solutions that underpin national services.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the postholder will play a key role across the full product lifecycle from understanding business requirements and designing data architectures, through to development, deployment and ongoing optimisation of data products.
You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable data and analytics solutions. This includes developing data pipelines, building and maintaining data warehousing solutions, and delivering insightful reporting and visualisation outputs to support decision making.
The role involves working within modern delivery frameworks such as Agile and DevOps, contributing to delivery planning, and ensuring solutions are implemented to a high technical standard. You will also support continuous improvement activities, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our data platforms.
As part of a collaborative team, you will share knowledge, support less experienced colleagues, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and skilled technical specialist with demonstrable experience in designing, developing and implementing data and analytics solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
