The Technical Specialist (High Voltage)
The Technical Specialist (High Voltage) enables world-class research and teaching in high-voltage engineering. Through the provision of specialist technical expertise and support within the high-voltage Platform, the role helps create an environment where complex experimental activities can be undertaken effectively and with confidence. By supporting the development of new knowledge, technologies and research capabilities, the post holder contributes to the University's research excellence, student experience, innovation ambitions and wider societal impact.
Responsibilities
- Support the work of the high-voltage Platform within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
- The primary focus of this role will be providing support for the development and delivery of our activities in high-voltage engineering.
- Be expected to play a key role in ensuring our experimental facilities run efficiently.
- They will be expected to have a close and supportive working relationship with the platform lead, academic staff, and researchers delivering research projects.
- Will need to collaborate, cooperate and work effectively with other platforms utilising facilities and platforms such as Mechanical Testing, Optical and Electronic, Advanced Manufacturing, Workshops and Surface via the PPMS booking system.
